Those who stopped by the South Street Seaport on July 4 in the afternoon may have heard classical Broadway performances from Dan Zanes and Friends, music from Columbian band La Cumbiamba eNeYé! and witnessed a parade hosted by 76 Trombones with a motley assortment of jugglers and stilt walkers.
The Veteran Corps Artillery of the State of New York fired off its annual July 4 50-round Salute To The Nation via cannon in Battery Park City in commemoration of the 50 states admitted into the United States. The corps also hosted a flag raising ceremony at the Castle Clinton National Monument in honor of the national holiday.
People way downtown on Water Street between Fulton and Broad Streets walked through a festival filled with food, music, entertainment and exhibits.
