A 31-year-old man was stabbed in Times Square after refusing to give the perp a cigarette, according to police.

The victim was standing on W. 43rd Street near Seventh Avenue at around 7:30 p.m on Jan. 23, when the suspect approached and asked him for a smoke.

When the victim refused, the man became irate — yelling loudly at the victim, and threatening him.

The argument quickly became violent, and the two men started pushing and shoving one another, according to cops. That’s when the perp took out a screwdriver, and lunged it into the victim’s head.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he is expected to recover from his injuries. Meanwhile, the perp fled the scene before police arrived.

No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
