Carpenters’ union members held a surprise picket outside the future Soho home of the All Saints store, on Broadway south of Spring St., Monday. Chanting “Same work! Same pay!” they said they weren’t actually calling for the trendy British clothing company to use union construction workers, but just to pay the prevailing area wage. “It’s a big job,” an organizer said of the All Saints space, noting it includes both the basement and first floor. They said they haven’t been using big inflatable rats at their protests lately, but are now more into old-school-style marching, slogan shouting and whistle blowing.
