Taking the Fifth

On Sunday morning there was a silent vigil against the war along Fifth Ave. from Eighth St. north to 98th St. Each U.S. soldier killed in Iraq was represented by a person holding a sign with his or her name. Each block was also intended to represent 1,000 Iraqis killed. On Sunday, a sign in Washington Square Park showed the tally of 2,680 American soldiers dead in the war up to that date.
