A woman is in custody after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death in her Manhattan apartment on Monday night.
Authorities say that at 9:06 p.m. on March 2, officers from the 24th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an assault in progress at an apartment on Amsterdam Avenue near 91st Street. Upon their arrival, officers found a 48-year-old man inside the apartment with multiple stab wounds to his chest.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The victim’s girlfriend, 44-year-old Tracy McCarter, was taken into custody at the scene. She was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
