Police arrested a suspect for allegedly stabbing a man in a hate-fueled attack in Hell’s Kitchen last week.
According to authorities, at 12:15 a.m. on April 15, a 24-year-old man was in the vicinity of West 44 Street and 9 Avenue when he was approached by the suspect, who made anti-nationality remarks to the victim. The suspect then pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the torso.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot northbound on 10th Avenue. The victim was taken by paramedics NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
On April 20, police arrested 29-year-old Konrad Pielak and charged him with assault as a hate crime, menacing as a hate crime, and aggravated harassment based on race/religion.
