Bronx shooting leaves one man dead, another wounded: NYPD

Two men were shot, one fatally, in the Bronx early Thursday morning, police said.

Cops responded to a 911 call of shots fired in the vicinity of East 213rd Street and Holland Avenue and discovered a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right leg. The victim was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.

However, upon further investigation, the NYPD learned that a second man was shot during the incident who was taken to Montefiore Medical Center by private means. This man, 26, was shot in the chest and shoulder and was subsequently pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending family notification.
