The James Beard Awards semifinalists for 2015 were announced Thursday. Here are the New York City nominees. They were chosen from 34,000 online submissions. For more info on how chefs, bakers and restauranteurs are selected, read this.

The final nominees will be announced on March 24 and the awards presented at a Gala on May 4 in Chicago (not, for the first time ever, in New York City, which is home to the James Beard Foundation.)
